Whoops, totally ran out of time last night! But had to put up part 2 of Hannah & Billy’s wedding before heading out for today’s wedding.
After their ceremony at the Sun Hotel in Hitchin everybody walked a few minutes over the road to the Hermitage Road Bar & Restaurant. What an amazing place! Normally its a bar and restaurant open to the public but they had it exclusively to themselves. The space has a fantastic, modern, industrial, stripped bare look with an open kitchen and stage built into the back. The restaurant area was set up canteen style with simple, beautiful table settings of jars of brightly coloured flowers, little flags for table numbers, hand stamped place names and brightly coloured ribbons tied to the backs of the chairs. The whole look was stylish and retro and fitted perfectly with the venue.
When Hannah & Billy arrived at Hermitage Road all their friends and family had lined the staircase to throw confetti before they enjoyed a cocktail reception and canapes. They had a sit down meal which was followed by the most amazing desert tables from which guests could get up and help themselves, I took so many photo’s they were just so pretty, like little works of art all lined up! Dinner was followed by speeches, including one from Hannah (I love it when a bride breaks from tradition) and then a toast of some very fine Scottish Whiskey given by Billy’s Mum and Grandma to celebrate his Scottish heritage.
Hannah & Billy are both talented musician’s so music played a big role in their day. Billy’s sister played the most beautiful piece on the violin during their ceremony and she also played with his brother and the best men for the Ceilidh that started off the evenings dancing which was followed by a band (which I sadly don’t have the name of as they were brilliant!)
I can’t recommend Hermitage Road enough as a wedding venue. The staff were amazing, the food delicious and the space and decor is fascinating. Congratulations Hannah & Billy and thank you for asking me to be your photographer and letting me document your day, it was truly wonderful!

I tried to get the number of images for this post down put just couldn’t so I have part 1 for you now and part 2 this evening.
I moment I sat down and starting talking to Hannah & Billy I knew I was going to love photographing their wedding. We share a love for hand crafted items, restyled vintage and quite simply just doing things your way rather than conforming to the norm. Their wedding celebrations were all held in Hitchin starting at the Sun Hotel where they also got ready and then on to the Hermitage Road Bar & Restaurant. Both venues offered unique spaces in which to celebrate and really added to the spirit of the day.
The Sun Hotel has a lovey, airy hall with huge arched windows that provide a beautiful backdrop for a civil ceremony. Hannah & Billy had decorated the hall simply using bunting made by friends and family and jars of flowers that matched Hannah’s and her bridesmaids bouquets. I loved the ribbons that were tied to the backs of the chairs that added a splash of colour and drew all the other elements together.
Hannah looked stunning in her dress from Elizabeth Avery’s vintage wedding dress shop. Hannah’s friend then adjusted both the dress and lace jacket to fit Hannah perfectly and added the soft coral silk belt (with hand covered matching buttons!) that looked as though it had always been part of the dress. Hannah made her head piece further demonstrating her eye for style and artistic talent. Billy’s fantastic suit is from TM Lewin, his best men wore their own and they all wore mis-matching button holes in the same beautifully bright colours seen in Hannah’s bouquet.
Anyway that’s enough from me on the photo’s, grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy 🙂

A stunning bride, a gorgeous groom, a cute little country church and an amazing reception venue, oh and a pair of Jimmy Choo’s (for a girl that lives in flats, these things still have the most bizarre effect on me!), the perfect recipe for a fantastic day!
Sabbie & Andrew were married on Saturday at St Mary the Virgin in Letchworth and then went on to have their reception at South Farm, Cambridgeshire. Sabbie was so relaxed all morning it was unreal and that set the tone for the whole day. South Farm is such a beautiful venue, surrounded by fields and set in bright, flower filled gardens, add in an ice cream van and some drinks and nibbles on the terrace and you have very happy guests.
I loved Sabbie & Andrew from the moment I met them back at the start of the year, they are so obviously in love and just wanted an amazing day to spend with their family and friends and that’s exactly what they got. Congratulations guys, it really was a very special day, I hope you enjoy these images, some of my favourite from the day.
We also spent a lovely afternoon together for their Richmond engagement session which you can see HERE.

Hannah & Billy… well what can I say! I loved all their little personal touches like Hannah’s vintage dress, the super bright bouquets and every kind of bunting made by family & friends! These are just a few of my favourites from their super chilled day at the Sun Hotel, Hitchen and the Hermitage Road Bar & Restaurant. Both were such great venues offering light and bright spaces that they personalised to make them extra special. Hermitage Road is something else, I am so going to make sure I get to eat there one day, the food looked AMAZING and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful.
Congratulations guys! I hope you had a fantastic day!
I’ll be sharing more of Hannah & Billy’s colourful day soon so hopefully these will wet your appetite 🙂
