Emily & Andrew

The last weekend in May was a pretty busy one for me.  After shooting an awards dinner in a documentary, reportage photographic style, at One Marylebone, Central London, on the Thursday night I came straight home, recharged the batteries, downloaded the memory cards and repacked the bags ready for Emily and Andrews Wedding on Friday.

I have known Emily and Andrew a while as I shot some family portraits for them and was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their wedding.  They were married in St Andrews Church in Windsor, the same church that Emily’s Parents were married in so it was particularly poignant for them.  Andrew was so eager to marry Emily that he didn’t even wait for the vicar to complete the vows before he said ‘I will’ which resulted in a lot of laughs but really set the tone for the day.

Emily’s dad was in charge of driving the VW van which seemed to have a mind of its own and only two gears! But we made it safe back to the Castle Hotel in the Centre of Windsor which Emily had decorated to a ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ theme.  She collected all the teacups herself and Andrews Dad made the amazing Cheshire Cat cake.

We took a break from the party in the evening to wander around Windsor and get some portraits and Emily and Andrew did me proud, you both looked stunning guys and so happy!! Congratulations to you both.

What I did the rest of the weekend will follow shortly in my post about Emma and Justin.
