Humaira & George were married in Greece, where they live but returned to the UK for a Reception at Hatfield House, Hertfordshire so that they could celebrate their marriage with all of Humaira’s friends and family.
I was booked by Humaira’s brother and didn’t meet Humaira until the day before the reception. Although it is unusual for me not to meet the couples I work with before the day, it did not effect how I approached photographing their day. My documentary style was ideal for capturing their celebrations.
Hatfield House is a beautiful location on any day but when we arrived the sun was shining, the sky was blue and all the guests were able to gather on the lawn, for drinks surrounded by Henry Moore sculptures. The rest of the celebrations were centered around a relaxed and informal dinner followed by a small number of group photographs before Humaira, George and I headed into the gardens for their portraits.
