Kirtsy & Emma’s Sneaak Peek

Kirtsy & Emma's wedding at Beaconsfield Chambers was just perfect and sun kissed with the late September sun.  I loved the fact that they approached the day 'their way' and met them both chatting with family and friends outside the chambers prior to their ceremony, the whole afternoon had such a lovely relaxed feel, like I said just perfect. Congratulations Kirsty & Emma, a fab day for two fab ladies :-)  Enjoy your sneak peek. If you're planning a wedding in Beaconsfield or anywhere else, then please get in touch via the contact page, I'll look forward to speaking with you. … [Read more...]

Amy & Isaac’s Sneak Peek

Amy & Isaac had a fab 50's style day with a huge tea party at Waddesdon Village Hall after an emotional ceremony at their church.  Their whole day was filled made possible because of their incredible friends and family that helped with everything from the sandwiches, cake, bunting, flowers, setting up the hall and so much more!  And all those Macarons were made by Amy, yes all of them, it must have been hundreds and I can confirm they were delicious!! Here are a few of my favourites from a day filled to the brim with love and laughter. A huge THANK YOU to Shanice who shadowed me on … [Read more...]

Laura & Peter’s Wedding at the Beetle & Wedge

Laura & Peter's wedding at the Beetle & Wedge in Mouslford was a lovely low key affair.  The Beetle & Wedge don't cater for many weddings every year but it's such a lovely setting I can understand why Laura & Peter choose it.  Sat on the banks of the Thames the service and food is fantastic and guests even get to order their meal from a special wedding menu. Their ceremony was held at Reading Register Office, with the room as full as I've seen it, Laura & Peter entered together and it was clear to see just how happy all their family and friends were to be sharing in … [Read more...]

Rachel & Ross’ Sneak Peek

After such a beautiful sunny few days the slightly lack luster weather this morning makes me even more keen to share this gorgeous, bright fun filled day with you.  Rachel & Ross used to live next door to me so when they called and told me they were getting married and wanted to chat to me about me photographing their wedding I have to admit I was a little excited.  They might not have had the sunniest day at Bisham Abbey in Buckinghamshire but they more than made up for the lack of sun with their constant smiles and stunning spring flowers.  So Rachel & Ross thank you for booking me … [Read more...]

Sarah & Sam’s Sneak Peek

Sarah & Sam's wedding at the Notley Tythe Barn in Buckinghamshire was just lovely.  It may have been early March but the sun was shinning, everyone was smiling and love was certainly in the air.  Here are a few of my favourites from the day.  Congratulations Mr & Mrs Issacs! Louisa & David’s Sneak Peek

Louisa & David's wedding was the last wedding of the year for me and what the perfect end to a crazy year it was.  They choose to have an intimate wedding of just close family at Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire.  It was a bitterly cold day outside but you'd never have known as the sumptuous rooms were warmed by log fires and their guests warmed by mulled wine.  Their ceremony was followed by a wonderful meal and then they were joined by their evening guests to dance the night away. Here are a few of my favourites from their day with more to follow I'm sure :-)  Congratulations Louisa … [Read more...]

Lynsey & Tom’s Sneak Peek

Tom & Lynsey had a wonderfully wintery wedding.  From the huge Christmas tree that decorated St Michael's Church in Chenies, Buckinghamshire to their unusual table decorations of white trees decorated with hand painted fir cones, some all the way from their home town in New Zealand, there was a little bit of sparkle in every part of their day! Hastoe Village Hall was the perfect location for their reception with it's high ceilings and white washed walls it perfectly complimented the winter wonderland theme.  Organising a wedding from abroad is never an easy feat but when you have so … [Read more...]

Katie & David’s Great British Pub Wedding

Its a bit of a dull old day so how about a gorgeous, summery, pub wedding to brighten things up! Katie & David's day was so great. Fun was the order of the day and much fun was had.  After a beautiful ceremony at St Peter and St Pauls Church in Ellesborough we took a little walk to the field behind the church to make the most of the fab weather and the freshly rolled hay bales for some lovely relaxed portraits.  The reception was held at a gorgeous little country pub called The King William IV in Speen, Buckinghamshire.  Katie, David and their bridesmaids arrived in style in … [Read more...]

Katherine & Ian’s Sneak Peek

Last sneak peek of the year goes to Katherine and Ian who had a fantastic day at Glenmore House.  There's nothing nice than the smell of Mulled Wine and Mince pies after a very chilly stroll in the park for some portraits, but it was worth it guys, you look fantastic.  Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! … [Read more...]

Kim & Daniel’s Sneak Peek

Kim and Daniel planned an amazing day at the unusual venue The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre in Quainton, Buckinghamshire.  It certainly made an interesting backdrop for photo's and I can promise there will be lots to share from this later on. For the time being here are a few of my favourites.  Thank you Kim and Daniel for booking myself and Rob Burress (there are a couple of Rob's images below) to photograph your wedding, it was truly a non-stop, fun filled day. If you're looking for a wedding photographer for your Buckinghamshire Railway Centre Wedding then I'd love to hear from you … [Read more...]

Sarah & Mark’s Sneak Peek

Sarah & Mark were married at the beginning of September just as the leaves were starting to turn but they were blessed with a super sunny day. Sarah got ready with her family and bridesmaids at Old Luxters Barn in the little B&B cottages, which are superb, surrounded by vineyards.  This was appropriate as they were later to have their reception at Stanlake Park Vineyard a gorgeous new wedding reception venue just outside Twyford, Berkshire.    They chose Henley Town Hall for the ceremony and shipped all their guests in by bus to save everyone the trouble of parking in the busy … [Read more...]

Anna & Sam’s Sneak Peek

Congratulations Anna & Sam!!! What a fantastic day you had at Bisham Abbey!  I love a Bisham Abbey wedding,  it's such a lovely building, with it's beautiful, wood paneled ceremony room and grand dining room, what more could you ask for. Anna & Sam wanted a laid back day with plenty of time to chat and enjoy time with their guests.  They made the most of the outdoor space at Bisham, with drinks on the patio and lawn over looking the river.  Everything was dead relaxed right from the start of the day (even though we had to do an emergency bit of sewing on Anna's dress!).  After … [Read more...]

Amy & Richard’s Sneak Peek

Congratulations Amy & Richard and sorry for the wait for your sneak peek, I'm sure you're having far too much fun in Australia at the moment, hopefully you can get to a PC to have a quick look :-) Amy & Richard were married at Trunkwell House in Berkshire last Friday and were lucky enough to be able to have their ceremony outside, dodging the rain until they were safely inside the marquee for dinner.  This was such a fun day with smiles all round from the moment I turned up in the morning.  I loved their beach theme with little buckets of sweets as favours and buckets of treats for … [Read more...]

Mareile & Sven’s Sneak Peek

The last few days have been a real treat!  Firstly I got to come and stay in Germany with Martina and her lovely family (I met Martina at  Stacey & Simon's wedding back in March 2012, she's also a wedding photographer here in Germany and we've become good friends over the last couple of years).  Secondly I got photograph her sister Mareile's wedding!  No pressure then!! :-)  I've fallen in love with Germany this week and gained at least half a stone I've been looked after so well! I'll apologise now for any spelling mistakes or slight differences in my editing as I'm using Martina's PC … [Read more...]

Shawn & Sam’s Sneak Peek

I'm running a little late tonight as I'm trying to get everything finished before leaving tomorrow morning for Mareile & Sven's Wedding in Germany this weekend.  (Sooooo not packed yet!)  But I couldn't go before putting up a sneak peek for Shawn & Sam who were married yesterday at Maunsel House in Somerset.  I've been to Maunsel House before and couldn't wait to go back, it's such an amazing venue.  I think you could stay here a week and still find new and interesting things to look at. Shawn & Sam had very definite ideas about what kind of wedding they wanted.  Shawn's from … [Read more...]

Steph & Martin’s Sneak Peek

Steph & Martin you quite simply rock!  Congratulations and here's your sneak peek!  In case you missed it you can see Steph & Martin's New Forest engagement session HERE. Every minute of Steph & Martin's day was packed full of huge smiles, amazing colour and so much love and laughter it was hard to know what to take photo's of first!  Steph certainly knows how to travel in style as she made her way from her parents house to the church on a big bus which later transported their guests to Deans Court in the centre of Bournemouth.   Family & friends had mad so many things to … [Read more...]

Molly & Alex’s Scottish Beach Wedding

Last year I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph Molly & Alex's Wedding in Arisaig on the West coast of Scotland not too far from Fort William.  My Grandmother was born in Edingburgh but I've actually been to Scotland more times to photograph weddings than for pleasure and every time it blows my mind with it's rugged beauty.  One of these days I really must get up there just to walk and enjoy the spectacular countryside. Molly and Alex were married in the beautiful tiny church in Arisaig and then had a reception at Camusdarach Campsite where they had a marquee and easy access to … [Read more...]

Hannah & Billy’s Beautifully Bright Wedding – Part 2

Whoops, totally ran out of time last night!  But had to put up part 2 of Hannah & Billy's wedding before heading out for today's wedding. After their ceremony at the Sun Hotel in Hitchin everybody walked a few minutes over the road to the Hermitage Road Bar & Restaurant.  What an amazing place!  Normally its a bar and restaurant open to the public but they had it exclusively to themselves.  The space has a fantastic, modern, industrial, stripped bare look with an open kitchen and stage built into the back.  The restaurant area was set up canteen style with simple, beautiful table … [Read more...]

Hannah & Billy’s Beautifully Bright Wedding – Part 1

I tried to get the number of images for this post down put just couldn't so I have part 1 for you now and part 2 this evening. I moment I sat down and starting talking to Hannah & Billy I knew I was going to love photographing their wedding.  We share a love for hand crafted items, restyled vintage and quite simply just doing things your way rather than conforming to the norm.  Their wedding celebrations were all held in Hitchin  starting at the Sun Hotel where they also got ready and then on to the Hermitage Road Bar & Restaurant.  Both venues offered unique spaces in which to … [Read more...]

Katie & David’s Sneak Peek

Here's a little sneak peek for Katie & David who had a fantastic pub wedding last weekend at the King William 4th in Speen, Bucks.  They weren't actually married in the pub of course, they were married in a church just up the road from their house, set on a hill in the stunning Buckinghamshire countryside. With it being another scorching weekend a pub was the perfect place for their guests to relax over a pint and later ice creams.  I shan't mention the ice cream cola cocktails (you can see a chap drinking one of them at the bottom of the page), lets just say I think they were fairly … [Read more...]

Georgina & Alan’s Sneak Peek

This post includes a few more pics than one of my normal sneak peeks but then I think Georgina & Alan deserve a little bit more.  Not least because they've spent most of the last 4 months apart but also because they moved to New Zealand the day after the wedding.  So their wedding day was also a last hurrah to and from all their friends and family.  Unsurprisingly it was a pretty emotional day (had a tear in my eye myself during the speeches!) and it's clear just how much Georgina & Alan love each other. Danesfield House is a strikingly unusual wedding venue, with it's imposing … [Read more...]

Laura & Richard’s Nether Winchendon House Wedding

Today I have Laura & Richards gorgeous Nether Winchendon House wedding to share with you.  We met at the church a few months earlier for their engagement session so I knew I'd be in for a treat with such a lovely couple and stunning location. Nether Winchendon House has a barn and cottages separate from the main house where receptions are held and the bridal party can get ready.  Nether Winchendon Church is just a quick walk up the road so the whole wedding is beautifully self contained and your guests can park and then just stroll up the road, making the whole day relaxed and … [Read more...]

Sabbie & Andrew’s Sneak Peek

A stunning bride, a gorgeous groom, a cute little country church and an amazing reception venue, oh and a pair of Jimmy Choo's (for a girl that lives in flats, these things still have the most bizarre effect on me!), the perfect recipe for a fantastic day! Sabbie & Andrew were married on Saturday at St Mary the Virgin in Letchworth and then went on to have their reception at South Farm, Cambridgeshire.  Sabbie was so relaxed all morning it was unreal and that set the tone for the whole day.  South Farm is such a beautiful venue, surrounded by fields and set in bright, flower filled … [Read more...]

Henna Party

Henna!  This amazing art form is fascinating to me.  I guess in part because it's not permanent and also the human body is the canvas.  It was great to be able to photograph Sunni's Henna party as although I've seen henna painted many times it's usually been at festivals through beer goggles and never with such skill.   Sunni booked Kiran Sahib Mehndi Artist to paint her wedding Mehndi and it was clear to see why, she is one talented lady! They had already started when I had arrived and Sunni's hands were looking amazing.  The henna comes in a tubes like icing bags.  Gently squeezing the … [Read more...]

Antonia & Don’s Sneak Peek

Congratulations to Antonia & Don who were married (or more specifically blessed) on Saturday!  Such a gorgeous summers day perfect for a reception at Antonia's families farm in Warwickshire and definitely went down well with all the South African and Australian guests who didn't have to brave a more typical British summer's day!  Don is South African and they met out there when Antonia moved there so the decorations all had little nods towards South Africa like the Protia's in the bouquets and other floral decorations. Their blessing was held in the pretty little St Leonard's Church in … [Read more...]

Sunni & Amo’s Civil Ceremony

I recently posted Sunni & Amo's South Bank engagement session and now it's time for their wedding (well the legal bit anyway :-)) April was when their wedding celebrations started in earnest with their civil ceremony at Bexley Register Office followed by a reception at the Angleus Centre.  It was a day brim full of emotion, laughs and some crazy dancing later on.  This was the first wedding I've attended where the bride walked down the aisle twice.... no they didn't get married twice!  Sunni was just SO eager to marry Amo that her and her Dad didn't wait for the music to start playing … [Read more...]

Hannah & Billy’s Sneak Peak

Hannah & Billy... well what can I say!  I loved all their little personal touches like Hannah's vintage dress, the super bright bouquets and every kind of bunting made by family & friends!  These are just a few of my favourites from their super chilled day at the Sun Hotel, Hitchen and the Hermitage Road Bar & Restaurant.  Both were such great venues offering light and bright spaces that they personalised to make them extra special.  Hermitage Road is something else, I am so going to make sure I get to eat there one day, the food looked AMAZING and the staff couldn't have been more … [Read more...]

Kerrie & Gary’s Sneak Peek

Here are just a couple of my favourites from Kerrie & Gary's wonderful wedding day a couple of weeks ago.   They've been together for 5 years and have two gorgeous little girls and it was clear to see how much they love each other.  It's not often you see a beautiful bride, in a white carriage, pulled by white horses travels through Chertsey so Kerrie had quite an audience as she arrived at St Peters Church.  Their reception was at the Silvermere Golf Club in Cobham, with gorgeous views out over the lake and golf course. Congratulations guys and thank you for booking me as your … [Read more...]

Lisa & Peters Summer Fete Wedding

Today I thought I'd share this lovely little summer fete wedding with you from last year.  Lisa & Peter chose Beechwood Park School as the venue to hold their reception after being married in St Leonards Church in Flamstead. Ariane Rocher Jewellery – Bridal Shoot

Jane & David’s Iscoyd Park Wedding

Iscoyd Park's a great private wedding venue in the middle of the Shropshire countryside.  Jane and David planned their intimate November wedding here with a great soft peach and orange theme that fitted perfectly with the autumnal colours that dressed the trees outside. I'm not sure I've ever seen a couple so excited to get married, it was truly lovely and the grins on their faces as the registrar announced that they 'are now man and wife' said it all.  It was an amazing day filled with close family and friends, lots of each with a different backdrop.  The ceremony room is small but so … [Read more...]

Chris & Carol’s Ettington Park Hotel Wedding

There's something about a pair of sparkly shoes that does funny things to most girls, maybe it's a childhood fantasy or maybe it's because we've all got a little bit of magpie in us that draws us to sparkly things.  Whatever it is Carol's shoes had this effect on me!  They were one of three pairs Carol bought as she'd had a pretty tough time deciding which ones she liked best.  Why not hey, you only live once!!! :-) I don't think Chris will mind me telling you that he was a little bit of a 'Groomzilla'.  He was the driving force behind the organising and such an interest in every detail it … [Read more...]

Louise & Toby’s Woodland Hand Fasting Ceremony – Part 2

This has been a long time coming, I made a little trip up a mountain in Morocco called Toubkal and am only now getting up to date with all that I have to blog and share (more on that in another post!).  So apologies Louise and Toby for leaving such a big gap between the first and second parts of your wedding.  I can promise you all it's been worth the wait! Music played a very big part in Louise and Toby's day.  Their ceremony and drinks reception was accompanied by Reed Rage a Bassoon Quartet who were amazing but in no way prepared me for the huge Jazz band, Jetstream who played in the Tipi … [Read more...]

Louise & Toby’s Wonderful Woodland Wedding

'A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are; we can be loved for who we are and not for who we’re pretending to be. Each unveils the best part of the other.' Richard Bach from The Bridge Across Forever: A True Love Story I first met Louise and Toby on a cold night in October in a lovely warm pub.  As they started to tell me about their plans for their woodland wedding in August, I can't lie, I started to get really excited!  They … [Read more...]

Emily & Tom’s Sir Charles Napier Wedding

Emily and Tom's late summer wedding at the Sir Charles Napier, near Chinnor was a real treat for the senses.  They had a blessing in a near by church and then headed to the restaurant for a champagne reception and dinner.  Photographing a Sir Charles Napier wedding was a real honour as they only host a very small number of weddings and/or parties a year. 'OH MY GOD!!! I've just flicked through them twice and I'm all shaky and emotional!! They’re LOVELY! Thank you so much!! I need to just keep going through them so I can take it all in!  I'm thrilled!' The Sir Charles Napier is a just a … [Read more...]

I've learnt a lot this year.  Looking after yourself is so very important, don't put it off, your body gets you through … [Read more...]

Stunning Gold Silk Wedding Album

I really do love everything about Folio albums, they're just beautiful! This stunning gold, silk album is now the proud possession of Molly & Alex who were married in the summer.  Their reception was on the beach on the west coast of Scotland so this cover fits perfectly with the sun, sand and gorgeous golden Gorse flowers that were the back drop to their day.  They selected to have their front cover inscription engraved which adds a modern twist and another texture to the album. Folio Albums create beautiful bespoke fine art albums and have a great eco policy which helps an eco … [Read more...]

Faye & Paul’s Beechenhill Farm Wedding – Part 2

Faye & Paul's wedding was just so chilled!  There was a structure to the day but the emphasis was on relaxing and having fun, nothing felt rushed, the complete opposite in fact.  It was lovely watching everyone sat sipping on their elderflower cordial, taking in the gorgeous views over the Peaks and sucking up the last rays of summer sun. As Beechenhill is a working farm there are quite a lot of animals about.  A few of my favourite feathered friends (chickens) decided to get in on the group shots and the poor old cows seemed a little surprised to find a load of people 'Wanging Wellies' … [Read more...]

Faye & Paul’s Beechenhill Farm Wedding – Part 1

Faye and Paul are just lovely! They got in touch ages ago looking for a photographer to document their wedding day and after a good Skype chat we quickly worked out we were a pretty good match for each other. They planned a small gathering of just 30 or so guests on Beechenhill Farm, a working organic farm on the edge of the Peak District near Ashbourne.  Their Beechenhill Farm wedding was small but perfectly formed. The decoration was minimal but worked so well with the setting.  The neutral colours and textures perfectly complimented the beautiful flower arrangements created by Swallows … [Read more...]

Sophie & Sam’s Handmade Wedding

Raw emotion is hard to fake and Sophie & Sam had the best ever 'We're Married!' celebration as they left the small church in Bovingdon, Hertfordshire in which they were married.  Their handmade wedding was made more perfect because so many friends and family had chipped in to help get everything ready and run smoothly on the big day. The Marquee was set up in a field opposite Sophie's parents house and was decorated with handmade garlands of coloured card, jam jars full of flowers and luggage label name tags.  Sam plays the saxophone and was in his university's big band so music was … [Read more...]

Emma & Navin’s Nonsuch Mansion Wedding

Last December I photographed Emma and Navin's Nonsuch Mansion Wedding.  They had planned a low key dual ceremony wedding incorporating a civil ceremony followed by a Hindu ceremony.  Both were held in the beautiful octagonal Orchid Room showing just how versatile it is. Nonsuch is such a lovely place to get ready.  They have a dedicated dressing room upstairs which is beautifully spacious and light, from a photographers perspective, just perfect!   During their engagement session, Emma & Navin expressed that they wanted a low key day with minimal fuss, words not normally associated with … [Read more...]

Emily & Adam get married – Part 2

After Emily & Adams Maunsel House Wedding ceremony  they planned an amazing tea party style sit down dinner.  The food was provided by Posh Nosh and looked amazing decorated with flowers to match the decorations on the tables and cake.  Dinah from Inspiration Wedding Flowers not only decorated the gazebo and ceremony area beautifully as you can see in Part One but she also provided the most amazing table decorations using kiwi fruit and grapes with the peonies, roses, hydrangeas and jasmine to create luxurious, billowy displays reminiscent of baroque paintings. Emily & Adam … [Read more...]

Emily & Adam Get Married – Part 1

Maunsel House wedding photography was always going to be a treat, is one of those venues that quite simply allows you to have the wedding of your dreams.  The house, gardens and grounds are all yours to decorate and use as you like and the staff are amazing, discrete and helpful.  As soon as I arrived I could see exactly why Emily and Adam had chosen it as their wedding venue, it suited them down to the ground. I've had to split this post into two as apparently trying to upload 150 images to one blog post is simply not possible without breaking the website and there's too much pretty not to … [Read more...]

Lucy & Dom – Great Fosters Wedding

On a lovely, sparkly, frosty morning in November Lucy & Dom were married at Great Fosters in Surrey.  A Great Fosters wedding always promises to be a feast for the eyes as you couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting but on this morning it surpassed expectation! I was given an in sight into Lucy and Dom's playful nature when I received their 'save the date card' which  you can see with their engagement photo's.  The save the date card was pretty impressive but the invitation was AWESOME!!! An actual book with an illustrated cover and full details of the wedding inside and to top it off … [Read more...]

Jaime & Liam – Get Married – The Runnymede Hotel

Jaime and Liam's wedding is testament to the fact that a bit of rain can't put a dampener on a damn good celebration.  To be fair there was more than a bit of rain, it was more like multiple torrential downpours but hey it all added to the excitement. When I arrived at Jaime's Mum and Dad's house I was greeted by Jaime's Dad's taxi, all dressed up and ready to transport the bridesmaids to the Runnymede Hotel in Surrey, where the wedding ceremony and reception were to be held.  I have worked with Liam's family before, this is actually the third wedding I've photographed for them now so it … [Read more...]

Pippa & Jonny – Kelmarsh Hall Wedding

I've been lucky enough to be Second Photographer for a few brilliant wedding photographers this year.  Most recently I worked with the lovely Arabella Carter-Johnson at the wedding of Pippa and Jonny at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire. It was a beautiful fresh morning at the end of September when I arrived to photograph the boys at the Kettering Park Hotel.  There was a definiate air of excitment from the guests who were assembling to get on the big red bus that was to take them to the st Helens Church in Sibertoft.  There were a few finishing touches to be added, like the bunting, made … [Read more...]

TszSahn & Matt – Bisham Abbey Wedding

TszShan and Matt's wedding is proof that a little rain can't spoil a great day.  Their Bisham Abbey Wedding was a relaxed but fun affair with plenty to keep the kids occupied including a magician who captivated the adult guest as well as he did the kids. I met with TszSahn and her Mum at Robina's Hair and Beauty in Marlow and I watched in awe as Robina skilfully sculpted TszShan's hair.  The whole mornings preparations were incredibly calm really, considering that TszShan & Matt had only arrived in the UK from New Zealand, where they live, just a few days before and TszShan's family had … [Read more...]

Angela & Ryan – The Wedding – The Oxfordshire Golf Club

I met Angela & Ryan over a year ago when they first started planning their wedding and were looking for a photographer who could capture their day in a relaxed, unobtrusive way that would suit the wedding they were planning. Move forward a year and we met again for their pre-wedding shoot.  This gave us an opportunity to talk about all that they had planned and about all the things that were important to them on the day.  Angela had been busy hand stitching all the favours (this must have taken her ages!) and although they had both been working hard it was easy to see the excitement and … [Read more...]

Annie & Paul – The Wedding – Nonsuch Mansion

On a lovely sunny day in May Annie and Paul were married at Nonsuch Mansion in Surrey.  The mansion house (some parts of which date back to Henry VIII) and gardens really are a stunning backdrop for a relaxed, pretty summer wedding. It was obvious that Annie and Paul had put a lot of time and effort into planning all the little details that made their day so special.  I loved the fact that Annie's brother wrote his own speech and he and his cousins also read a poem during the ceremony.  The invites were designed by Annie's sister and her Mum made the confetti cones and guest book.  Check … [Read more...]

Oni & Adrian – A Wedding at Iscoyd Park

Back in January Gemma Williams asked me if I'd like to assist at a Chinese/British fusion wedding she was photographing at Iscoyd park  in April.  I jumped at the chance to go and visit Gemma in Herefordshire and work with her on a wedding. What a day!!!  Oni and Adrian are great fun and considering there was so much going on with different ceremonies and dress changes, the day went ludicrously smoothly. Thanks Gem (and Oni & Adrian) for having me along.  Here are a few of my favs, I've gone for a bit of an eclectic mix with a good smattering of abstracts. Enjoy. … [Read more...]

Samantha & David’s London Wedding

It's not often you go to a wedding and the entire wedding party do a synchronised dance to a Michael Jackson song! Sam and David's families sure know how to celebrate. I met Sam and David for their pre-wedding shoot on Southbank back in July.  You can see the images here. I started the day capturing the preparations at Sam's parents home, I love documenting the preparations and recording the excitement and anticipation before the ceremony.  The sun was shining and the mood was relaxed considering the number of people getting ready and then it was off to St John Fisher Church in Harrow … [Read more...]

Stacey & Simon’s Wedding

The church that Stacey and Simon attend is just a stones throw from my house and is definitely the most local wedding I've ever done.  I loved the fact that the day was planned in such a way that all the elements that were most important to them were given priority. Their actual marriage ceremony took place at the start of the service and was followed by some beautiful readings and singing.  The church they attend plays a big part in both their lives and they chose to have a drinks and cakes reception after the service in the church followed by speeches so that all the congregation could … [Read more...]

Hatfield House Wedding Reception – Humaira & George

Humaira & George were married in Greece, where they live but returned to the UK for a Reception at Hatfield House, Hertfordshire so that they could celebrate their marriage with all of Humaira's friends and family. I was booked by Humaira's brother and didn't meet Humaira until the day before the reception.  Although it is unusual for me not to meet the couples I work with before the day, it did not effect how I approached photographing their day.  My documentary style was ideal for capturing their celebrations. Hatfield House is a beautiful location on any day but when we arrived … [Read more...]

Ruhi & Paul – Untying of the Knot Ceremony

Ruhi & Paul asked me to document their 'Untying of the Knot Ceremony' back in August of 2010.  It was an excellent evening that consisted of traditional celebrations with a modern twist, family, friends and excellent curry. Ruhi has very kindly provided a description below to give you a better insight into the reason for the ceremony.  Thank you Ruhi. 'Contrary to popular belief, the Untying of the Knot ceremony is not the beginning of divorce proceedings! It's the final ceremony of a Hindu or hybrid wedding like ours and takes place in the company of very close friends and family. On … [Read more...]

Emma & Justin

Emma & Justin were married on the edge of Loch Awe, near Oban in Scotland in a church that looked like a fairy tale castle.  I photographed their wedding the day after I photographed Emily & Andrew's which meant that after I left Windsor on Friday night I went straight to Euston Station and caught the overnight sleeper to Glasgow.  It was actually really comfortable and I arrived feeling fresh as a daisy (well almost).  This is a bit of an epic blog post because this was an epic day. Although on the face of it Emma & Justin's wedding looks fairly traditional there were so many … [Read more...]

Emily & Andrew

The last weekend in May was a pretty busy one for me.  After shooting an awards dinner in a documentary, reportage photographic style, at One Marylebone, Central London, on the Thursday night I came straight home, recharged the batteries, downloaded the memory cards and repacked the bags ready for Emily and Andrews Wedding on Friday. I have known Emily and Andrew a while as I shot some family portraits for them and was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their wedding.  They were married in St Andrews Church in Windsor, the same church that Emily's Parents were married in so it was … [Read more...]

Gary & Sorcha – Great Fosters Wedding

Great Fosters is a beautiful location for any wedding but the day Gary and Sorcha got married it looked even prettier with its dusting of snow. The details at Great Fosters are stunning from the dark wood panelling to the embossed leather ceilings and it was easy to forgot how cold it was outside with the open fires keeping everybody warm Sorcha looked incredible.  Her dress had a delicate, floaty top layer with embroidered details on the underdress and belt.  She completed her look with a diamanté hair clip and white faux fur shrug.  I met Sorcha and her bridesmaids as they were getting … [Read more...]
