Sometimes I get the opportunity to work with some really great wedding suppliers and this shoot is the product of one of those collaborations. Ariane Rocher of Ariane Rocher Jewellery wanted a set of images that showed off her stunning, unusual wedding jewellery and bespoke engagement rings. Together with Jane MacFarlane-Duckworth of The Flower Union, florists we created the perfect looks to show off the ‘Papillon‘ and ‘Saturn‘ collections. The Papillon collection is great for all the butterfly lovers out there, I particularly love the crown and can just imagine this being the perfect finishing touch to a wedding outfit.
The images were tfor Ariane’s website and for promotional purposes so the focus was on the jewellery, not lessening the importance of the styling of our models but definitely impacting the compostion and focal point of the images. I love taking a few shots during the prep for the shoot, seeing how the look is created and watching the models transform. It was more than a little chilly the day of the shoot so all our models, Liz, Sophie and Camille deserve a HUGE thank you as they weren’t exactly dressed for the ridiculously low temperatures.
We wanted, simple, classy looks that allowed the jewellery to stand out and the predominantly white backgrounds helped to pull everything together. I love using window light to create back-lit dreamy images, as the light wraps around the model.
It was a pleasure working with both Ariane and Jane and the resulting images show off Ariane’s unusual wedding jewellery to their best.
