‘A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are; we can be loved for who we are and not for who we’re pretending to be. Each unveils the best part of the other.’
Richard Bach from The Bridge Across Forever: A True Love Story
I first met Louise and Toby on a cold night in October in a lovely warm pub. As they started to tell me about their plans for their woodland wedding in August, I can’t lie, I started to get really excited! They wanted their wedding to be something special, to really represent them and to have a great party. And that’s what they did!!
Unfortunately the weather was nothing like the gorgeous sunny August day they hoped for. It rained practically all day, which made more work for them and all their amazing friends that helped them turn a Scout camping ground into a spectacular setting for a wedding. But you know what, there was no chance that a bit of rain was going to spoil this day. It was just perfect in all it’s rainy glory!
So much effort had been put into every last detail from the brilliant invites that included each guests own camping badge (Yes loads of guests camped on site after the wedding) to the bunting and rose petals that decorated the tree lined aisle. Dinner was served at the tables in picnic hampers created by ‘Thyme at The Tavern’. It was great watching them being unpacked and hearing all the ‘Oooh’s’ and ‘Ahhh’s’ as each new edible delight was pulled out. Even the pies were decorated with hearts and the words ‘Wedding in the Woods’. The boys wore Hessian roses made by Louise’s friend and the girls had matching ones in their hair.
As normal I struggled to choose just a few images so this is just Part 1, Part 2 will follow shortly.
If you’re planning a Woodland Wedding then please get in touch I’d love to hear about your plans.
